About Us

Hi, my name is Suzanne, I am married to Neil and have two children Sam who is 12 years and Ben 7 years. We are an English family living in central rural France after spending three years on the beautiful High Coast in Northern Sweden. I have always loved dogs and whilst in  Sweden we added 2 beautiful Irish Wolfhound bitches to our family, Ellie and Daisy. Then when we moved to  France we bought two bitches from Xaliburs Irish Wolfhounds in Belgium, Tilly and Spicy. Along with Wilma (our home bred black Labrador) and a rabbit called Archie, a guinea pig called Pepsi, and a hamster called Ketchup that completes the Williams family. Please see our blog for updates on how they are all doing. Our dogs are very much part of our family and come everywhere with us and are included in everything including camping, caravanning and trips to England. We love the outdoors and are enjoying exploring this beautiful country with our dogs.

Please see below for my background in other breeds especially Labradors (still a great love of mine - indeed we still have a home bred black bitch -Wilma ) and Norfolk Terriers.

My first dog was a black German Shepherd x Flat coat Retriever called Devon. He was a lovely big dog, very clever and loyal and he came everywhere with me. I did some obedience and agility training with him and he was a lot of fun. I then bought my first Labrador from Ronwien Phillips a black male called Murphy. I set myself the target of qualifying and showing him at Crufts, which I achieved and that was it I had the showing bug. I was also smitten with Labradors and eventually had a pack of six Labradors which I showed under my Kennel name “Overijse”. I showed all my dogs at Crufts and I had some lovely wins at shows winning many 1st places and Best of Breeds. As well as showing my dogs I bred seven litters of very beautiful Labrador puppies and judged Labradors and other Gundog breeds all over England, Scotland and Wales. I was Secretary of Nantwich and District Canine Society and on the committee of the North West Labrador Retriever Club.

During this time I also had 2 Norfolk Terrier bitches. After my first son (Samuel) was born we moved from Lancashire to Leictershire. With the birth of my second son Ben I down sized my kennel and took 2 Labrador bitches with me to Sweden, that was Pebble (Wilsbury Old Faithful at Overijse) and her daughter Wilma (Overijse Star Gazer). After Pebble sadly passed away I took the opportunity to get an Irish Wolfhound, a breed I had long admired. This was a breed which was known for being an excellent family dog, being very good with children. We were very lucky to get Irdalens Daylight “Ellie” from Irene Dahlens and so our love of Irish Wolfhounds begins. Our dogs are very important members of our family and join in with all our family activities including caravanning, picnics, days out. The whole family come to shows and Ellie has delighted us by winning her first CAC at just 10 months old. Ellie gave us the Wolfhound bug and not long after we got Daisy, a black bitch from Anna Anderson of Team Moalands Irish Wolfhounds.Daisy has done really well in the show ring and has won 1CACIB, 9CAC and 1RCAC and four times 3rd in the Group judging. Both girls are absolutely beautiful and a pleasure to live with. We then bought Xaliburs O"Tilly from Ludwig Delaby of Xalibur Irish Wolfhounds in Belgium and have just started Lure course training with  Tilly, which is great fun and she loves it. A year on and we have bought a second bitch from Xaliburs called Spicy. Please have a look at the girls pages under "Our Dogs" for more information.
